Wintertime Wedding Styles

There is nothing more beautiful than a bride in a white dress with a backdrop of glistening snowflakes. Winter weddings are becoming more and more popular. Celebrities like Katherine Heigl have had their weddings at mountain resorts in the coldest months popularizing the tradition.

The problem that many people have when attending or participating in a winter wedding is deciding what to wear. Brides need to have dresses that will be warm and beautiful with the surroundings. Guests need to remember to dress appropriately for the ceremony.

The bride herself will need to be cautious when deciding what style of bridal dress to get for her winter wedding day. The most favorable choice for winter brides is a lengthy dress with pearls. The pearls will shimmer like the snow and the length of the dress will let the bride wear boots. Yes, I said boots. Bear paw boots will keep a bride from becoming cold and shivering during photograph sessions.

Bridal party members such as the bridesmaids should opt for long gowns. If a bridesmaid has a long gown, they may also be able to wear Bear paw boots to stay warm. Coordinating shawls or scarves may also be given to the bridal party. These make good thank you gifts from the bride and can be worn with other outfits as well.

Groomsmen don’t have any difficulty figuring out what to wear when they attend a winter wedding, as long as it is traditional. A suit and tie is all they will need. These outfits will become uncomfortable when worn for hours and the men will want to change as soon as they are able. Some grooms buy their groomsmen Bear paw type boots to change into as a gift.

Some people will be worried that they will not be warm enough at a winter wedding, even when it is conducted completely indoors. Sometimes cold breezes can sneak in through windowpanes, or you may be seated by an entryway. If you think ahead and wear a warm jacket that can be easily removed, you will have no worries.

It is not difficult to dress for a wedding between November and February. Just simply remember to dress for the temperature and for the occasion.

If you are lucky enough to attend a winter wedding this year don’t forget to keep warm in style. Wool and sheepskin materials are available in high end and classic looks.
